Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing environmental compliance issues in support of multiple facilities engaged in natural gas gathering and processing located in the Piceance Basin in Western Colorado.
Primary functions of the position include: -Preparation of environmental reports, correspondence, work plans and permit applications -Coordinate and schedule required testing, sampling, monitoring, field inspections, data gathering and record keeping. -Review and track stack test reports and Leak Detection and Repair monitoring reports -Prepare semi-annual compliance certifications and participate in periodic compliance reviews with operations staff -Review and interpret new and proposed environmental laws and regulations and provide guidance to operations -Provide general environmental assistance / guidance to Operations and Engineering staff -Assistance in negotiations of appropriate permit terms and conditions with regulatory agencies -Prepare and update SPCC plans, NPDES and other discharge permits/plans -Prepare spill and release reports -Prepare and update environmental compliance procedures and training materials -Manage environmental data in the companys environmental data management system -Prepare and update environmental budgets and process environmental invoices
This position may be located in Parachute, Colorado; or Denver, Colorado. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with other EHS staff, field operations staff and consultants to maintain data and documents related to permitting, compliance, and company performance metrics. This position will involve all aspects of data and document management including data entry, data analysis, reporting, and records management. This position includes regular travel to field facilities in the Parachute area, as well as occasional trips to Denver or other office locations for meetings and other functions.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in an engineering or equivalent technical or scientific field and at least 4 to 6 years of experience is essential; and experience with the Oil & Gas industry and/or associated Colorado and industry specific environmental regulations is a strong plus. Applicants should have experience with and detailed knowledge of environmental issues, particularly those related to air quality issues (such as Title V, NSR/PSD and NSPS/MACT). Additionally, applicants should have an understanding of other environmental media such as SPCC, SWPPP, NPDES, and general waste management regulations. As this position may also be responsible for release or spill reporting, an understanding of EPCRA/CERCLA is also desirable. A strong aptitude in math, general office (PC-based) computer skills, a moderate level of understanding of relational databases and advanced query skills are expected.
This position requires a motivated, hard-working, team player with attention to details and strong organizational, people and communication skills. The successful candidate must be able to take ownership of projects with a small amount of direction and be accountable for their successful completion. Possession of a current valid Colorado driver's license with no serious violations is mandatory.
This position may be filled at a different level commensurate with the successful applicants experience and background. Williams prefers to base this position out of its office in Parachute; but may base the position out of its office in Denver. Relocation assistance may be available for the successful candidate.
