Responsibilities: The Facility Planning Engineer will be involved with the design/impact of hydraulic models for new Williams field gathering systems within the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania; and will update, upgrade, and otherwise maintain existing hydraulic models for existing Williams field gathering systems within this region. This position will be responsible for initiating optimization possibilities, reviewing designs for their impact on our systems, and meeting with internal and external clients to develop optimum means of meeting the customers' objectives.
This position will be accountable for designing and updating models with monthly measurement data and determining if there are feasible means of automating processes by developing dynamic models; determining means of upgrading and optimizing models by use of gas flow equations, two-phase flow criteria, etc.; working with Laurel Mountain Midstream (LMM) leadership (i.e., Engineering & Construction, Operations and Commercial Development groups) in Pittsburgh, PA and the Operations Performance Group (OPG) in Tulsa, OK to design and optimize the systems, developing conceptual work plans to meet customer needs or help quantify efficiency/optimization projects.
Responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- Identifying and developing optimization opportunities in the Williams gathering systems. - Optimizing, maintaining, and upgrading the existing Williams hydraulic models. - Supporting both internal and external client requests using the hydraulic models. - Working with Project Managers to develop conceptual cost estimates, guidelines/best practices, or other estimating techniques for developing project opportunities. - Participating in commercial development activities including conceptual definition, proposals, scoping, and customer presentations. - Maintaining effective inter-department communications and relationships to properly transition projects through each stage of conceptualizations and development with Business Development, Commercial and other stakeholder groups.
Qualifications: Qualifications: - BS in engineering required - PE or advanced certification in specialized engineering or scientific field preferred. - Minimum of 2 years as Engineer II in Facility Planning Engineering and demonstrated skilled level in gas gathering & processing and working knowledge in two of the following areas: Operations, Design, Business Development, Construction, or Environmental. - Working knowledge of SynerGEE Gas software or similar software simulation tools that simulate the effects of transporting natural gas through gathering systems is required.
