Responsibilities: Position supports the Williston Basin team and is located in Minot, ND. Position supervises all aspects of the Completions operations following a 3-6 rig new drill development program across the Williston basin. Drives operational innovation and efficiency and delivers on cost and safety results per the budget plan. Ensures regulatory compliance and cultural diversity in all aspects of North Dakota operations. This person will interact with local industry groups, other operators, and regulators.
Successful candidate Is expected to: *Locally supervise Completions Operations: Schedule all aspects of Completions operations such that new wells are completed safely, on time, and within the budgeted cost as set out by Engineering and Management. Examples of this include posting a current frac schedule, supervise completion rig assignments, managing materials (i.e. water, tubing, expendables), assist in supervising production facilities construction and maintenance, and operation, and assist in supervising production operations including pumper activities and general maintenance, as well as field measurement for accurate reporting. Work all Operations with other departments (Engineering, Planning, Construction, Drilling, Regulatory, Accounting, Land, etc.) to ensure smooth simultaneous operations. Continuously search for, test, and implement new ways to improve operations, well productivity, safety, and costs reductions. Address daily surface and down hole problems that Operations encounters. Determine new course of action in response to changing situations, consulting with Engineering and Management as needed. *Supervise Contractors/ Vendors: Locally supervise Production and Completions vendors and assist in the RFS process. Recommend vendors based on Williams' corporate values of service quality, cost control, and reducing corporate liability and cultural diversity. Attend regular performance reviews with major contractors. Approve contractor/vendor invoices. *Supervise well site consultants and company personnel.. Work with field engineers, support staff assigned to field operations. Recommend the hiring and management of employees as well as consultants such that operations are conducted in a timely, safe, cost effective basis. *Supervise operations to ensure minimization of Safety, Environmental and Community Impacts: Supervise operations to reduce/ eliminate spills, reduce eliminate safety hazards. Properly report spills/safety incidents and investigate all reportable incidents in a timely fashion. Reduce impact to the local community by reducing truck traffic, dust, odors, noise, etc. Ensure that Completions/Production Operations comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws including TERO compliance of our vendors. *Improve Operations: Evaluate and introduce new technologies to support operations and engineering improvements for the purpose of improving production, reducing cost, or mitigating risk. Support evaluation of new processes introduced by Engineering. Improve cycle time, cost, and production results by continually defining, testing, and implementing solutions. *Determine if and where new field water handling infrastructure needs to be installed to support current and future completions/production operations. Propose a budget for necessary capital projects. *Demonstrate experience in tasks related to drilling, completions, workovers, design and specification, production optimization, and ongoing production and maintenance activities. *Demonstrate experience in well completions including fracture stimulation, perforating, pad logistics, and wellbore remediation. *Demonstrate ability to coordinate and plan short and long-term work tasks to meet production, LOE, and capital budget goals. *Communicate with manager, team members, and members of other teams within the asset. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of critical activities. *Communicate with landowners, partners, and regulators as needed. *Improve asset operations by assessing new technologies, evaluating bids, and implementing cost-cutting measures. *Provide operational perspective to Regulatory, Accounting, Production Engineering Technicians, and Field Administration. This includes coordination and creation of field infrastructure AFEs. *Assist with regulatory-driven projects, including applications for reduced drilling density and environmental assessment packages. *Participate in annual budget process. *Participate in SPE and other industry functions as well as maintain industry contacts to be informed of applicable technological and operational advances. *Make presentations to management as needed. *Perform other job duties as needed. Qualifications: *Ability to effectively manage and direct a team of professionals and field personnel with diverse skills and personalities. *Deep knowledge of completions and production operations is desirable. *Excellent communication skills. *Well developed patterns of reasoning and logic needed to develop a potentially multifaceted and fast paced program. *Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. *Leadership, motivational team-building skills a must. *Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment. *Creativity and the ability to work interdependently are mandatory. *Rewards the right values and models the way with the Williams culture. *Must possess keen negotiation skills. *Strong, demonstrated ability to work with people at all levels to assist with motivation, conflict resolution, development, and prioritization. *Bachelor's degree (pertinent Engineering or Business discipline) preferred with 5 years experience in the upstream petroleum industry. Other extensive experience and/or training specific to the position may be considered in lieu of the formal degree.
