Responsibilities: Geoscientist for Williston Basin Asset Team will lead technical evaluations for the geosciences team and cover operations as needed.
Responsibilities Absorb existing work done by Exploration team and publicly or privately available interpretations and data. Advance structural, stratigraphic, mechanical, and reservoir/hydrocarbon interpretations in the basin. Communicate with geophysicists to ensure integrated geoscience approach. Study and map relevant measurable and calculable geologic parameters, as appropriate. Work with reservoir engineers to optimize well spacing and orientation. Lead the design and execution of scientific data acquisition programs. Ensure results are incorporated into business activities.
Stay informed of non-operated and basin-wide activity. Drive leasing, acquisitions, and trades, where appropriate. Attend industry events and communicate with vendors and other operators to stay up to date on the play. Make recommendations on participation in consortia. Perform operations responsibilities as needed, including drill planning, rig tracking, permitting, budget, and reserves support. Keep manager and other team members informed of activity. Mentor and assist less experienced geoscientists.
Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following areas: Bakken/Williston Basin, advanced Petra, log analysis, horizontal drilling, core planning and analysis, facies interpretation and mapping, geophysics, programming Petra experience, SMT experience a plus 18+ years of experience as an industry geoscientist Excellent phone/email/in-person communication skills across disciplines, willingness to share information and work collaboratively
Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
