Responsibilities: Responsible for analyzing, setting up, maintaining, and updating producing and non-producing oil and gas leases in Rocky Mountain and other regions. Coordinates closely with land and/or division orders personnel to clarify problems. Familiar with contract limitations and relevant legal restraints. Analyze land contracts such as exploration agreements, farmout agreements, joint operating agreements, pooling orders, etc. for any terms that may affect leasehold. Analyze conveying documents to determine effect on Williams leasehold, i.e., leasehold percentage assigned, net revenue assigned, depth or wellbore exclusions, override retained, etc. Analyze complex lease forms for proper administration of the lease provisions and obligations. Monitor monthly payments to ensure timely and proper payments in accordance with the terms of each lease. Prepare exhibit A's for assignments of leasehold and/or outside assignments relative to divestitures of interest or contractual obligations. Initiates and prepares various forms of releases on different types of leases. Complies with all regulatory requirements on Federal, Indian and State Leasehold. Research, assimilates and processes lease data information for special projects and generate reports as assigned by supervisor. Reviews computer updates for errors and omissions. Resolves more complex problems independently. Analyzes and confirms the title status of properties being acquired through acquisitions or sold through divestitures. Generates reports for acquisition and divestitures, as needed by management. May assist in training junior analysts within department. Assist with special projects as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent work experience. Typically 7+ years of diversified lease/land department experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Certified Professional Lease and Title Analyst desirable but not required. Thorough understanding and working knowledge of oil and gas leases, contracts and title curative. Ability to analyze petroleum land and lease documents for accuracy and compliance with terms as set forth in documents. Ability to analyze and confirm due-diligence process of properties being acquired through acquisitions. Application of basic math. Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, research, and/or compose contracts, agreements, division orders, reports, title opinions, and correspondence. Thorough knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Thorough knowledge and experience with computerized Lease Data Systems, preferably Enterprise Upstream and/or Tobin IBS. Generally works independently with little supervision. Ability to assist in training junior analysts. Excellent organizational skills.
