Responsibilities: Position will drive the petrophysical evaluation of tight gas and shale reservoirs for the Piceance Basin Asset Team. Responsible for the evaluation and quality control of wireline logging services. Develop and lead core and specialty logging programs for petrophysical model development. Develop petrophysical models based on log to core calibrations for open and cased-hole logs for the various field areas and stratigraphic/reservoir intervals of interest. Position will be expected to have close collaboration with Geology, Completions and Reservoir teams to optimize well performance and EURs, improve reservoir delineation and characterization and completion optimization by implementing quantitative log evaluation and formation evaluation techniques.
Qualifications: Expert problem solving and analytical skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to learn company specific computer applications Experience in single and multi-well log evaluations Experience in log curve quality control and in editing and curve normalization techniques Knowledge of advanced rock properties and formation evaluation Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of coworkers and external contacts. Experience/Education
10 years of industry, geoscience, and petrophysical experience. Demonstrated and recognized petrophysical expertise Experience with tight gas petrophysics a must
Bachelors Degree in Geophysics or Geology, Masters preferred
Education Level: Bachelor's Level Degree
Relocation Information: Williams Corporation will pay relocation costs for this position.
Travel Percentage: Less than 25 %
