Responsibilities: This technician position has been posted for the Kemmerer, Wyoming area. The position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience. (Pipeline Tech 1-2-3-4) Perform preventive pipeline facility maintenance and work described under the job progression system for the Pipeline Technician job family. Includes responsibility in the handling of natural gas as related to turbine compression and all related subsystems /including start/stop, operation, and safety shutdown and combustion controls), meter stations, pipeline facilities, corrosion control and right-of-way maintenance. Handle facility encroachment activities including pipe location, excavation and inspection resulting from one-call notifications and/or direct calls. Interface with technical support, shared services, government agencies, local emergency planning committees, emergency responders, one-call agencies, landowners, and contractors. Perform public education activities including formal presentations. After hour work as needed and routine on-call rotations are mandatory with some out of area travel requirements
Qualifications: A two-year technical degree is preferred in a related field of diesel/diesel-electric, automotive, aircraft mechanics and/or, electronic instrumentation. Related work experience will be considered. Good organizational, interpersonal communication and initiative skills. Basic personal computer skills including a working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel. The ability to work both in a team setting and as an individual with minimal supervision. The ability to work with government agencies, landowners, contractors and customers. Selected applicants will be required to take a pre-employment drug test and employees participate in a random drug-testing program. A current driver's license is required.
