Responsibilities: Provide support to the annual planning process by running the plan financial models and other plan analysis for the Piceance basin assets. This will be done by running ARIES cases to extract and summarize plan data into Excel models. Will have responsibility to accurately and efficiently run multiple scenarios throughout the plan process and forecast updates during the year for the Planning Department when required. Coordinate preparation of the business case (CDT case) for annual capital approval. Through interactions with the asset team, must develop a clear understanding of the assets as applicable to financial and performance metrics, with a focus on production, operating expenses, capital expenditures, and metrics calculated through cash flow analysis. Communicate project economic assumptions to the asset team such as pricing updates, DD&A rates, etc. Develop a strong working knowledge of E&P systems required to perform various analyses. Assist in preparation of presentation materials as requested from the Planning Department. Provide support to the Planning Department and Asset Team on special projects as requested.
Qualifications: Five years experience in financial analysis with emphasis in financial reporting, planning & forecasting, capital budgeting and project economics. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles in the E&P industry is preferred along with E&P operational understanding. Strong analytical skills with the ability to build and maintain complex financial models. Must have an aptitude to thoroughly understand reporting systems processes and learn new tools. Ability to perform detailed analysis and related impact on overall company operational and financial performance. Requires problem solving skills, high level of accuracy and self-motivation, and persistence to follow issues through to completion. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications with expertise in Excel and Access. ARIES experience preferred. Strong written and verbal skills and ability to effectively communicate with asset teams and management. Must possess the ability to develop trust and interact well with various departments within E&P and also with senior management. Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required with an MBA a plus. Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
