Responsibilities:
The Principal Pipeline Engineer is the senior technical subject matter expert (SME) providing technical support in the areas of pipeline design, construction, maintenance, integrity testing and repair, welding, product flow regulation, and leak detection methodologies/technologies  that span the overall lifecycle of pipeline assets. These capabilities will be cross functional between gas and liquid pipelines as products are moved via gathering, transmission, and storage systems located on-shore and off-shore in the United States and in Canada. This position will create, establish and/or enhance existing processes, developing and driving a consistent enterprise wide methodical approach to pipeline and asset integrity.  Process work will be across a wide and diverse asset range with various degrees of regulatory requirements that include both regulatory driven and internal specialized asset integrity management plans.

This position will function as the principal SME performing detailed and highly technical investigations that include leak detection systems analyses, quality assurance checks, interpreting and communicating issues, and providing solutions/resolutions to the appropriate level of management. 

As an SME, this individual will create and provide appropriate level training and guidance to lesser knowledgeable individuals (engineers, management, & technicians) while concurrently mentoring both office and field based personnel in design, construction, operation, maintenance, and execution of integrity and leak detection activities. It is expected that this individual will influence a diverse, non-centralized organization comprised of many geographic zones having local individual goals to form and champion one common direction and goal that is consistent with the enterprise direction. 

As a known industry SME, this position also represents Williams Midstream on a variety of technical industry committee's such as those within API, ASME, PRCI and SGA.

Qualifications:
Qualifications:

- Experience and previously demonstrated capacity to develop and implement process management methodologies while incorporating same into O & M Manuals, writing standards, process quality assurance and developing metrics;

- Comfortable working with management and peers (Organizational Agility) to develop integrated, creative solutions to integrity-related issues and to drive the solutions to results in a timely manner;

- Advanced verbal and written skills, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as both an individual contributor or in team environments;

- Technical knowledge and experience in in-line inspection (preparing the lines, running the tools, data analysis, feature selection and NDT methodologies),  welding and pipeline repair methods;

- Advanced technical knowledge and experience in the design, construction, operation, maintenance, conversion of service and retirement of both high pressure gas and liquids pipelines with a proven leadership role of influencing and directing others in these tasks;

- Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, manage through systems/processes, and develop integrated, creative solutions to pipeline issues impacting integrity, reliability and/or compliance.

- Advanced computer skills including the use of word processing, spreadsheet, Arc-GIS, in-line inspection vendor software's, RSTRENG and the Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access);

- Ability to effectively lead teams through socializing, listening, and interpreting operational needs throughout the operational organization; 

- Advanced knowledge of CFR Parts 192 Natural Gas and 195 Liquid Pipeline Regulations as well as Alberta Pipeline Regulation 91/2005 and CSA Z662 to include preparing written responses to PHMSA or Canadian authorities, audit participation and ability to instruct others on the intricacies of the regulations. 

- Detailed and advanced knowledge of the company Integrity Management Plans is required; and Advanced knowledge and experience working with ASME B31.4 and B31.8 piping codes as well as API 1104, and API RP 80.

Relocation Information: Williams Corporation will pay relocation costs for this position.

Travel Percentage: Less than 25 %
