Responsibilities: The Regulatory Specialist will be responsible for working with other permitting team members to achieve full-cycle completion of the well permitting process and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations pertaining to said process. This spectrum includes, but is not limited to, planning for and assisting in the securing of permits necessary to develop on federal, fee, Indian and state lands in North Dakota. The position will interact with federal and state agency officials, as well as Fort Berthold Indian Reservation (FBIR) regulators and play a key role in asset team planning efforts.
Position Responsibilities: Review well survey, pad layout, and linear facilities data. Actively participate in and contribute to planning processes for field development. Attend all onsite field inspections, coordinate with surveyor and other consultants. Perform completeness reviews for all needed components of federal APDs involving FBIR lands. Interact with local regulators and agencies of the Three Affiliated Tribes of the MHA Nation. Coordinate work with asset team members in Denver and Tulsa offices. Monitor and track tasks associated with securing permits. Qualifications: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Three to five years previous experience as regulatory analyst/specialist in oil & gas preferred. Three to five years prior experience working with the BLM in the Rockies, NEPA knowledge a plus. Working knowledge of applicable BLM Onshore Oil and Gas Orders preferred. Working knowledge of North Dakota Industrial Commission rules and regulations as applicable to securing of drilling permits preferred. Basic working knowledge of land, drilling, and production field operations. Team player able to successfully work with federal, state, and Native American regulatory agencies as well as internal professional staff. Ability to prioritize and focus on multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational skills. Demonstrated capability in Microsoft Office Suite products, e.g. Excel, Word, etc.
