Responsibilities: The offshore Risk Assessment Specialist is responsible for supporting the offshore engineering and construction (E&C) projects in the areas of risk identification, risk assessment and quantification, development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies, and improving the efficacy of risk management. He/She is also responsible for leading 1 to 12 team members, and providing formal training and coaching to company personnel. This role is accountable for the implementation of William risk management standards on offshore E&C projects. The projects vary in size from small (<$1MM) offshore E&C projects to the largest (>$800MM) projects. Job activities include working with various stakeholders at each phase of a projects development to identify project risks and develop effective risk mitigation strategies. The Risk Assessment Specialist will then lead the evaluation of the potential financial impacts of the mitigated risks using Monte Carlo simulation methods and other industry-accepted practices and tools. Throughout the project the Risk Assessment Specialist will monitor the effectiveness of the selected risk mitigation strategies. At the close of the project, he/she will assist in the preparation of lessons learned from the project. The offshore Risk Assessment Specialist is accountable for collaborating with peers from the E&C East, E&C West, Tactical Services and E&C Canada groups on the identification, development, implementation and improvement of common and best practice processes across Williams Midstream.
Qualifications: -Masters degree or higher in an applicable (legal, business, engineering, economics, financial) discipline is required. -Minimum of 2 years experience in managing project execution risks is required. -Minimum of 2 years of applicable industry experience (pipeline, drilling, gas processing, oil/gas gathering, oilfield services) is required. -Minimum of 5 years experience in managing projects is preferred. -Experience with complex contract negotiations is required. -Experience with risk assessment of offshore deepwater projects is required. -Experience with developing and implementing risk management processes/systems is required. -Working knowledge of industry accepted risk management software (PertMaster, Crystal Ball, and other Monte Carlo simulations tools) is required.
