Job Details:

Abbott Labs located in Irving, TX seeks qualified Sr. Mech Eng R&D. Resp for providing eng leadership & expertise to support new & existing products, processes, prototypes, fixtures, & tools. Bachelors or foreign academic equiv in Mech Eng or rltd fld of study w/ min 5 yrs of rltd progressive, pro eng exp. In the alternative, will accept Masters or foreign academic equiv w/ min 3 yrs of pro eng exp. Must possess pro exp in: (i) conducting eng studies & validations, incl data analysis using statistically sound methodologies & authoring tech reports; (ii) developing eng designs concepts & tests methods to demonstrate proof of concept; (iii) design & troubleshooting in mech design; (iv) leading cross-functional risk assessments for new products or process changes; (v) working w/in highly  regulated environments & applying applicable industry regulations; (vi) utilizing empirical, numerical & experimental analysis to analyze mech designs; (vii) selecting appropriate materials, components, processes & technologies for subsystems; & (viii) using ANSYS software. Employer will accept any suitable combo of education, training, or exp. An EOE. 40 hrs/wk.
