Title Dentist
Reports to Executive Director
Supervises Auxiliary Staff
Directs Dental Assistants for daily workflow
Department/Location School-Based and/or Clinics
Assists/ Works Closely with Hygienists, other Dentists, Patients and their Guardians.
Classification Full Time and Part Time/ Independent Contractor
Main Responsibilities:
· Deliver dental services to children aged 1 to 18.
· Perform comprehensive, periodic, and limited exams; review radiographs; and determine treatment plans.
· Place sealants, restorations, and SSCs; perform pulpotomies and extractions; and perform prophylaxis as needed.
· Perform risk assessment for caries, habit counseling, and provide nutrition and diet recommendations.
· Notate the patient chart or review the dictated notes transcribed by the assistant for completeness and accuracy.
· Maintain patient confidentiality.
Additional Responsibilities/Tasks that are being done:
· Problem solve with the schedule as emergencies and other incidents arise, talk with the staff, and coordinate solutions.
· Quickly learn how to rely on your clinical team.
· Help as many under-served children in as a profound a way as one can.
· Provide direction and feedback to the dental assistants.
Technology Responsibilities:
· Use of Dentrix charting software, Dexis radiography software, and ADP internal timekeeping system.
Requirements:
Required Education
DDS
Beneficial Experience
School Based setting and/ or child behavior management experience
Language Requirements
English. Spanish speaking is a great benefit. Hmong speaking is also a benefit.
Travel Requirements
Must be able to travel to any of 3 clinical sites on a daily basis. No travel during the day is required.
Physical Requirements
OHP Clinics are dynamic work environments where dentists must be able to navigate the different spaces and work within the constraints of each one.

· Behavior Management
· Flexibility to deal with changing clinic schedules and to accommodate the extended needs of OHP’s underserved patient base.
· Adaptability to work at 3 different clinical sites and adjust to the limitations of the physical spaces.
· Amenable to working with a variety of rotating staff.
· Efficiency with a booked schedule.
· Good clinical skills.
· Enjoys working with children. OHP’s patient base is from age 1 to 18.
· Patience, perspective, and enjoys variation as opposed to consistency.
