Duties:

• Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums;
• Examine teeth, gums, and related tissues, using dental instruments, x-rays, or other diagnostic equipment, to evaluate dental health, diagnose diseases or abnormalities, and plan appropriate treatments;
• Remove decay from teeth and fill cavities;
• Repair cracked or fractured teeth and remove teeth as necessary;
• Perform periodontics procedures, including prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease, placement of dental implants, and treatment of oral inflammation;
• Diagnose, treat, and maintain teeth through endontic therapy;
• Perform dental prosthesis (both fixed and removable) to restore and repair defects such as missing teeth, missing parts of teeth, and missing soft or hard structures of the jaw and palate;
• Administer anesthetics to prevent patients from feeling pain during procedures;
• Write prescriptions for antibiotics and other medications as needed;
• Examine x-rays of teeth, gums, the jaw, and nearby areas for problems; and
• Teach patients about diet, flossing, use of fluoride, and other aspects of dental care, and formulate plan of treatment for patient's teeth and mouth tissue.

 Position Requirements:

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (“DDS”) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (“DMD”) from a US. accredited dental school.
• Must have current, valid MA license to practice dentistry.
• One year of experience as a dentist or a dental assistant.

Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include one year of each of the following:

• One year of experience examining, diagnosing, and treating teeth and gums;
• One year of experience examining teeth, gums, and related tissues, using dental instruments, x-rays, or other diagnostic equipment;
• One year of experience interpreting X-rays to make accurate diagnoses and decisions about treatments.
• One year of experience extracting teeth, performing root canals and filling cavities with dedication to pain management.
• One year of experience performing root canal procedures to treat nerve and dental pulp issues and prevent further damage to teeth and gums.

Requires travel between Leominster and Worcester offices 2-3 times per week.
