Overview
Klein Tools is now offering a $1.00/hr differential on 2nd shift! We are also offering a $1000.00 sign-on bonus for 2nd shift only!
The Packer works under close supervision of the Packaging Supervisor and performs small pack duties from work cell set-up through completion of finished products according to written standard procedures.
Responsibilities
1. Package final products by following written work instructions in job folder that includes placing product into clamshells, adding product cards, applying proper labels and/or placing them into boxes.
2. Complete a visual inspection of packaging by following written work instructions before assignment completion to confirm correct product packaging.
3. Report accurate count of time spent and quantity produced for each assignment by scanning badge at the beginning and end of each assignment and completing required paperwork to turn into the Packaging Supervisor.
4. May prepare work station for each job as outlined in the work instructions by lifting bins of product from pallets, carrying them to the work station, and setting them in the appropriate place at the work station.
5. May use a Staple Gun to assemble boxes.
6. May operate Pallet Jack to move leftover products after assignment completion from work station to racking area for the Warehouse Material Handler to put away.
7. Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management.
8. Follow Six Sigma lean manufacturing standards to keep work area clean and safe from hazards.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment is preferred. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
Must be able to use a Pallet Jack and Staple Gun. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Ability to work independently and with others. Ability to meet established deadlines. Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail.
