Yotta Energy, Inc. seeks a Head of Product Design for a position in Austin, TX to develop and implement a comprehensive design strategy that aligns with the company’s overall objectives and market positioning. Identify market trends, understand user needs, and translate insights into actionable design plans. Lead a team of industrial designers, provide guidance, mentorship, and support throughout the product development lifecycle. Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration. Generate innovative design concepts and ideas that push the boundaries of traditional industrial design. Balance artistic vision with practical considerations such as manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and scalability. Advocate for user-centered design principles, conduct user research, usability testing, and interactive prototyping to ensure that products meet the needs and expectations of end-users. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, marketing, and sales, to integrate design considerations into every stage of the product development process. Facilitate effective communication and alignment between different departments. Establish and uphold high design quality standards, consistency, and craftsmanship across all products and brand touchpoints. Conduct regular design reviews and critiques to ensure that designs meet established criteria and standards. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and design innovations, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance and evolve the company’s design capabilities and offerings. Effectively communicate design strategies, decisions, and rationale to senior management, stakeholders, and external partners. Build strong relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders to garner support for design initiatives. Utilize the following: Surface Modeling (Rhino3D and ALIAS); Solid Modeling (Fusion 360); Photorealistic Rendering (Keyshot3D, Corona Rendering) for still images and product animations; image manipulation (post-processing); video editing (Premier Pro); hand sketching (digital); UI/UX design (Figma); HTML5 and JAVA for web-based applications; PYTHON and ARDUINO for electronic prototyping; gCode (additive manufacturing); AR/VR experience development; Project Management, SIGMA, and lean manufacturing; supply chain planning and management, product manufacturing; and PDCA cycle implementation and reporting.

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field or a foreign equivalent, and at least three (3) years of experience as a Product Design Manager or a substantially similar position performing all the duties as listed above.
